Over the years I have been drawing I have learn multiple skills, however from my late years of high school I slowly learned that I prefer to draw with pencil and shading than I do with using coloured pencils and paints. I became so comfortable with drawing in pencil that I had done it for so long I was eventually able to enlarge pictures with decent proportions.

The picture to the left was one that I had started several years ago after finishing my art exam, during this time I was confident in my drawing skills and had improved them. Don't get me wrong it is incomplete but is one of the best pieces of work I have done.
Since then and coming to Uni, I haven't been drawing as much in my free time and this has caused my detail and quality to decrease at the start of the year, however over a short time this has quickly improved. From my experiences of drawing in the past I have seen the quality that I can achieve so as long as I keep working and drawing, I will also be able to achieve my goal of creating the character design of video games.
My favourite game which is Final Fantasy VIII has given me inspiration over the years, as well as other video games. This can be seen in my drawing as it is my attempt at drawing Quetzacotl, this is one of my favourite creations in the whole game for me as it appears throughout several of the games in the series. Through looking back at this drawing I understand how important time is, and I mean taking your time with drawing something, especially when it is something you love extremely well. Over the years this has been one of my best examples of work and with it has come the realisation that in order for me to get back to this degree of definition requires a lot of time and dedication to get there.
