Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become a game art animator? Well I did, and thanks to the University I am currently attending I'm finally getting the experience needed to become involved within the gaming industry. It is easier said than done to start chasing your dreams but if you keep working towards it, there is nothing stopping you from achieving it!
My name is Sophie and I am aiming to be involved with the gaming industry by using my art and styles to help get me there. During the next 2 years of University, studying Game Art Animation, I will be improving and enhancing my skills as well as learning new ones along the way. I will also be learning new software's I can use to also further improve my abilities. Along the way a gallery will hopefully be made to make it easier to see all of my examples of work as I progress.

My dream is to be able to work under Square Enix designing the art work for games, this is because they are one of my favourite game franchise companies as I have played a massive variety of their games ranging from their Final Fantasy series to I am Setsuna, as well as anything in between. I would love to help develop games for a company whose games I have played so many of, however even if I am unable to work for Square Enix, I will be happy as long as I am able to help create an MMO/MMORPG game.
When I started my University course, I had no idea how stressful it would be, I knew it would be worse than doing A Levels, but with my course also being shorter than other universities by a year, everything is a lot more compressed together and seems like never ending assignments. Once all your assignments are done, it is a great sigh of relief, plus I have no regrets starting this course, I have met amazing people, and the lecturers are extremely helpful too! I couldn't ask for a better University to have attended. Starting university has also made me realise how much work is needed to get somewhere, and if I couldn't manage here, I would probably have no hope the in environment I wish to work in.

It all started around 7 years ago when I was 18, this was when I had started to think about what I wanted to do, and what my dream job would be. Contemplating on going to college for game design, instead of doing sixth form in high school, I had to get a portfolio together. Sadly I ended up missing my chance all those years ago to start my journey to my dream job, but I have come to learn that it doesn't matter how late in life I go to university, or how long it takes me to start working towards my dream, 7 years it took me to learn this lesson, the lesson that it is never too late to start anything, and so finally I have come full circle, however its a step ahead than previous as instead of college its University.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become a game art animator? Well, we will find out along the way, with my journey through university and beyond into the world of creating games!
